We have been invited to provide the musical entertainment for Rentstart’s Sleep Out on Friday 15th November at Esher Rugby Club.
Rentstart, an Elmbridge-based charity which supports those who are homeless and those at risk of homelessness, is again hosting their annual Sleep Out, which offers a unique and eye-opening glimpse into what a night sleeping on the streets could be like. Sleep Out participants will come together with others in our community, with live music provided by Elmbridge Choir, food, and interviews with those with first-hand experience of rough sleeping, before spending the whole night in a cardboard box. All to raise funds and awareness to help the charity continue to help people in Elmbridge who are homeless.

Rough sleeping and hidden homelessness in places like Elmbridge is often overlooked; last year they supported over 784 people, 300 of their current and former tenants accessed their ongoing support services, and 49 secured employment, work experiences or started an education course with the help of their small team of staff and volunteers. Their model works – 91% of their beneficiaries remain housed after 12 months.
Their goal is to raise over £50,000 to help them continue providing tailored individual support to their clients; helping with the money management, job opportunities, as well as overall emotional and physical welfare support, that makes a more stable future possible.
